Verry Merry Mix Up
A Christmas time themed show in which holiday helpers come to assist LEGO Mrs. Clause baking before the Holiday elf party.  However, Mrs. Clause had to step out and left instructions.  While following the recipe they missed some important ingredients ruining their batch of gingerbread cookies.  But LEGO gingerbread man magically appears to help them learn the best way to make the cookies.  At the end gingerbread man disappears after they successfully baked a Gingerbread house for the elf party and everyone reflects on what they learned.

For this project I designed and built the set to look like a human scaled LEGO set.  Rolling counters sturdy enough for dancers to perform on and hidden doors in the oven and book case for the LEGO costume character to enter and exit from.
The first version of the set design was to be enclosed sides to reduce the break of immersion as much as possible.  Performers would enter from a hallway like entrance while the LEGO costume character was to have is magic entrances and exits thru the oven and bookcase.
The gingerbread house was modeled on SketchUp and scaled to fit on a backing sheet.  The design was based upon the original LEGO gingerbread house model that was for sale.  Yes, selfie of a proud mooment when dryfit worked perfectly.  I unfortuently can not find the picture of the finished piece.
After some delays and setbacks, the set had to be adjusted to what was already built and ready to install.  Following relaunches would see additional set dressings.
Holly Jolly Jubilee
A Christmas time themed show in which holiday elves are getting ready for the big Christmas party but the venue isn't ready yet and guest are starting to show up.

For this project I designed and built the set with some LEGO inspired pieces and artwork.  A snow machine and fog machine in a work bench.  A pile of garland turns into a Christmas tree shape pulled up by actors in the corner of the set.  A functional slide from the second floor of the set.
Christmas tree
In 2014 I retrofitted over a hundred candles on a LEGO built Christmas trees with LED lights to give them a natural random flickering effect.  Utilizing bundled wires and multipin connectors for easy installation for the infrastructure.  The LEDS were the original Darklight (now Gantom) LED Alphas.  candles were wired in groups of six spaced thru ought two layers of the tree to minimize synchronized flickering.  Each group was wired to an LED controller that was DMX controlled for tree lighting ceremonies and adjust the flicker rate and intensity when needed.
I also utilized Darklight DMX RGB LEDs to light a translucent star made out of LEGO bricks into 11 quadrants for programming into various lighting effects for shows.
In 2018 the candles gave way for pixel mapping LEDS around the tree for more dynamic effects.  The LED star remained.
